Galling Resistant Coating
Galling, or adhesive wear, occurs when two surfaces slide against each other causing friction and adhesion at the point of contact. A&A has many coatings which can resist galling wear and provide longevity to components which are subject to heavy galling.
A&A Coatings | Thermal Spraying Process to Achieve Galling Resistance
A&A Coatings uses a rich variety of materials applied via various thermal spray processes. In addition to Galling resistance, we have a thermal spray solution for almost any or all industrial wear, erosion or corrosion challenges.
HVOF and Plasma Sprayed cermet materials such as Tungsten Carbide, Chrome Carbide or other hard ceramic materials can be applied to minimize the effects of abrasive wear which leads to galling. Additionally, Nickel based carbide spray and fuse materials can be applied in cases of extreme galling.
Benefits of Galling Resistant Coatings
A&A Coatings’ thermal spraying coating processes leave minimum impact on the substrate materials. Our galling-resistant coatings prevent galling, wear and erosion without warping or distorting the coated part. Additionally, our wide range of galling resistant materials is applied on a wide selection of materials and geometries. This versatility can create great cost savings by allowing a customer to utilize cheaper non-wear resistant materials to manufacture a part while applying a galling resistant coating to achieve the resistance properties which may be required by certain applications.
