Metallized Low Shrink Steel

A&A Coatings material is a premium steel wire manufactured exclusively for flame spraying. It is the most versatile and satisfactory metallizing steel available for applications where the coating must be machined.

This material is a low-shrink material which permits application of coatings of unlimited thickness without cracking. It is a precipitation hardening steel, it age hardens and it work hardens. Therefore, in wear applications, it out-performs ordinary machinable carbon steels. It has low shrink, and high wear resistance

Use Low Shrink Steel for machine element applications which must be machined. Also use it for applications which are finished by grinding, to take advantage of its superior shrink characteristics.

Low shrink steel has been used very successfully on machine elements such as armature shafts and all kinds of journal surfaces, to repair mis-machined parts, and, in general, all machine applications where the coatings must be finished by machining.
